Feeling the Blues at World Famous Johnny’s Bar and Grill
Feeling the Blues at Johnny’s Bar and Grill
Aug. 20, 2014 in Hollister CA - Johnnys Bar & Grill
Burgers Blues Bash at Johnny's Bar & Grill great FUN, tasty Burgers & Rockin' Blues music by Wild Pack Band.
One Fun Night of Blues, Burgers and Helping the Community
Since 1946, Johnny’s Bar & Grill has been part of history, and American legacy. Farmers and business men would pack the place for the greasy cheese burgers. Then in 1947 Wino Willie and his Boozefighter’s took over Hollister. They cut loose and one of their guys drove through Johnny’s on his motorcycle. The incident was even depicted in the July 1947 issue of Life Magazine and inspired the 1953 movie “The Wild Ones” with Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin. - See More Photos -
In 1947 the hard working farmers, cowboys loved the camaraderie they found at Johnny’s, and today more than sixty five years later, they still do; and the bikers join them. Now, you can be a part of something special too.

The 2014 Blues Against Hunger Tour Begins!
THE 2014 BLUES AGAINST HUNGER TOUR BEGINS!
The 2014 Blues Against Hunger Tour begins!. This week (May 23, 2014) we begin a new and exciting chapter in our lives. We (John and Rachel Pack) have been working on the Blues Against Hunger Tour non-stop for the last 8 months, and it will change our lives forever, and we hope and desire to play a role in doing the same for others.
Over the last several years, Rachel and I have done something to support children in Baja, but all our efforts lacked a lasting effect. This time we wanted to do something more substantial and lasting. When we found out that 16 million kids in America are suffering from hunger, we knew exactly what we were going to do.
We created Blues Against Hunger, an organization to produce musical food drives throughout the country and the world, by partnering with the food banks that provide the food distribution and community reach. This summer we are working with California Association of Food Banks (cafoodbanks.org) and others to accomplish this goal. The journey begins in May 2014.
Please join us by attending one of the many events, or hosting an event of your own, and by signing up for our newsletter. Thank you for supporting BLUES AGAINST HUNGER. Blues and hunger

The 2014 San Felipe Blues Bash!
The Baja Good Life Club will combine forces with Wild Pack Band in an attempt to collect food in San Felipe Baja California on May 23 at the first Burgers & Blues Bash. The concert is FREE to the public, however we are asking for a non-perishable food donation (can good and dried goods are best). Donations will be collected at the event to help “San Felipe Voluntarios Sin Limites” (VSL) translated to English means Volunteers Without Limits, a Mexico Civil Association (non-profit) to stock its shelves for the summer months when donations plummet.
In tough economic times, everyone needs hope and occasional help, especially those in San Felipe who live in poverty. Statistically, donations are much lower over the summer months forcing many families to turn to VSL for help. Throughout the Summer, VSL will be feeding the poor and those in need, and they need your help too.
The Burgers & Blues Bash will be Bashing Out Hunger with Burgers and Blues on Saturday 23, at 5PM on the patio of the Pavilion Restaurant at La Ventana de Mar Resort in San Felipe Baja California.
In an effort to help VSL during this summer season The Sweet n’ Lowdown Show will be collecting as much food as possible, but the donation don’t need to stop there. On-going support is needed. This initiative is part of The Sweet n’ Lowdown Show’s community outreach campaign, bringing people together to address human needs and transform lives in San Felipe, California and the world. Watch for The Sweet n’ Lowdown Show in your community this summer.
